Welcome to Magic Moves Dance. In these sessions children experience an imaginative approach to dance encouraging musicality and creativity through movement.  Inspired by a range of music from African drumming to classical ballet music and using props such as streamers, flags, scarves and stretchy fabric, they will explore a whole new world of movement possibilities and produce dance which is truly their own. 

This is not a conventional dance class.  There is no uniform and children are gently encouraged to participate. There is always  the option of sitting out and watching if a child is not ready to join in.  My aim is to make the sessions as enjoyable as I can so everyone can relax and have fun!

HISTORY

Kate Adams started teaching creative dance classes for young children in Brighton in 2001.  This soon became known as Magic Moves and has continued to grow and develop since then.  Her unique style of teaching has drawn children and parents to her classes who were looking for something different and more accessible to young children who may not be ready for or suited to more formal and stylised dance classes.

Kate trained at London Contemporary Dance School and has been teaching dance for 14 years.  She has also danced and choreographed for several dance groups including contemporary, West African and Samba based dance groups.  She has two children of her own.

All Magic Moves teachers have had an enhanced CRB check and appropriate dance training.
